INTI International College Penang Gets a Head Start in Supporting Earth Hour 2025

It is never too early to share the crucial Earth Hour message calling on everyone to give at least an hour doing something positive for our living planet, as well as to help protect our forests, rivers and seas.

WWF-Malaysia extends heartfelt thanks to the MKT2135 Digital Marketing students of INTI International College Penang, and their lecturer Encik Muhammad Rajaie Mustafar, for undertaking the ‘Earth Hour 2025 Fundraise for Nature’ Employer Project and raising RM2,150 for our crucial conservation efforts.

In advance of Earth Hour at 8.30pm on 22 March 2025, the INTI students created and shared content about the importance of conserving forests, rivers and seas, as well as reducing waste, to build a sustainable future where people and nature thrive together. From April to July 2024, the students honed their communications and project management skills, creativity, leadership, resourcefulness and teamwork as they engaged people to support Earth Hour and nature conservation.

They also sold food, reusable items and perfume at booths on-campus and through online initiatives to raise funds for WWF-Malaysia’s nature protection efforts. The students used only paper containers and reusable bottles, thereby generating no plastic waste during their activities.

WWF-Malaysia commends the excellent efforts of the INTI International College Penang students. We should all take action to protect nature, which we need for fresh water, clean air, climate change mitigation as well as to safeguard our comfort and prosperity.
