INTI's Center for American Education Supports Earth Hour

WWF-Malaysia extends heartfelt thanks to the students of the Center for American Education (CAE), INTI International College Subang, who supported our conservation and climate change mitigation efforts with the guidance of their lecturers: Ms Uma Muthusamy, Dr Wong Yee Chin, Ms Sahaya Sharon Lourdes Samy, and Mr James Tan Khet Woon.

In conjunction with Earth Hour at 8.30pm on Saturday 23 March 2024, the CAE students collected Earth Hour Pledges and fundraised more than RM4,000 in support of WWF-Malaysia’s conservation efforts. With the guidance of their lecturers, the students produced innovative and engaging content comprising write-ups, social media posts, videos and graphics in support of Earth Hour.

They then formulated and executed creative digital marketing initiatives combined with on-campus activities to garner pledges and raise funds for nature conservation. Among the fundraising efforts undertaken by the students were designing, producing and selling Earth Hour-themed T-shirts and reusable shopping bags, as well as creating hand crocheted flowers and baking cookies for sale, selling hand drawn nature-themed temporary glitter tattoos, along with movie nights and driving simulator games.

The INTI students made the effort to minimise waste by using recycled items to make prizes for game participants, using paper packaging and recycled string while avoiding plastic packaging, as well as donating excess glitter to kindergartens for their arts classes.
