Fraser's Hill Flora Hunt


 

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

  1. This Hunt is organised by WWF-Malaysia in partnership with CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad and Tourism Pahang to instil awareness and appreciation of the amazing richness of the flora world.
  2. Participants must form teams of at least two (2) but not more than three (3) members,with at least one (1) adult per team. Submissions for the Hunt will be based on team effort.
  3. To enter this contest, participants must agree to and accept the official Terms and Conditions on the Registration Form. Participants should read these Terms and Conditions carefully upon registering to ensure that they understand and agree to the Terms and conditions of this contest. 
  4. Registrations must be submitted using this Google Form provided. All registrations must include the team name, full names of all participants, contact numbers, NRIC/Passport numbers and email addresses. 
  5. Each team is required to download the ArcGIS Survey 123 application onto their leader’s mobile phone to participate in this Hunt. Teams, with their members registered online must be present at Fraser’s Hill on 28 September 2024, from 8:00 a.m to 9:00 a.m to complete registration and indemnity forms and get acquainted with the application. 
  6. The organisers will not provide any internet or Wi-Fi connection during the Hunt. Participants are required to use their own internet service throughout the event. 
  7. The Hunt will commence at 9.30 a.m and end at 1:00 p.m. Submissions before or after this time period will not be accepted. During the Hunt, participants are required to look out for native flora around the Fraser’s Hill town board, snap photos of the species and provide correct identifications. Judging will be based on the team’s effort to collect as many photos of native flora as possible, with correct identifications, submitted through the designated application. Only submissions made via the form will be accepted.  
  8. Besides the flora listed in the ‘Fraser’s Hill Flora Unveiled’ guidebook, participants may submit photos of  other native flora not listed in the guidebook, with correct identifications, through the form provided. Extra points will be awarded. Participants may use online resources or other applications to identify flora species. Submissions with only photos but without identifications will be disregarded.
  9. Only photos and identifications of NATIVE flora will be accepted for judging. The photos of the plant (flowers and/or leaves) must be clear and allow for proper identification . Native flora refers to species that occur naturally in a geographic region or habitat and have existed long before human introduction or horticultural practices. Native flora contribute to the ecological balance and biodiversity of their natural habitat. TIP: The ideal locations to detect the native flora in Fraser’s Hill are the four trails: Abu Suradi, Hemmant, Bishop and Mager 
  10. The first eight (8) groups with the highest scores will be eligible to win cash prizes and other goodies worth more than a total of RM3000.The prizes must be accepted as offered.
  11. Participants are not allowed to submit applications or answers on behalf of other teams. 
  12. The organisers reserve the right to disqualify any participant from the Hunt if, at the organisers’ sole discretion, they reasonably believe that the participant has attempted to undermine the legitimate operation of the Hunt by cheating, deception, or other unfair playing practices or if the participant annoys, abuses, threatens or harasses any other participants, or the organisers.
  13. The organisers reserve the right to change the “Terms and Conditions” at any time without prior notice to the participants.
  14. The decisions of the organisers and judges are final. 
  15. Participants agree that personal data submitted, including names, mailing addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses may be collected, processed, stored and otherwise used by the organisers, its affiliates or agents for the purposes of conducting and administering the Hunt. By entering this Hunt, participants agree to the transmission, processing, disclosing and storage of this personal data by the organiser, its affiliates or agents.
  16. The organisers are not responsible for any malfunctions of the Hunt link or for any late, lost, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible or undeliverable answers due to system errors, failed, incomplete or garbled computer or other telecommunication transmission malfunctions, network connectivity problems, or hardware or software failures of any kind.
  17. If for any reason the Hunt is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Hunt, the organisers reserve the right at their sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Hunt. The organisers further reserve the right to disqualify any participant who tampers with the submission process or any other part of the Hunt. 
  18. All transportation, accommodation, and meal costs will be the responsibility of the participants. The organisers will only provide morning and teatime refreshments.
  19. Staff, relatives and agents of WWF-Malaysia and Tourism Pahang are not eligible to participate in this Fraser’s Hill Flora Hunt.
