The High Conservation Value (HCV) Training Modules were produced through the collaboration of WWF-Malaysia, Forest Department Sarawak, Sarawak Forestry Corporation, and Sarawak Timber Association, with valuable inputs from forest managers.
The training modules are tailored for use by Forest Management Units (FMUs), with content suited to the context of Sarawak. Its goal is to enhance HCV processes, concentrating on assessment, management, and monitoring. The production took about five years, and included consultation sessions, field tests, and reviews, with the final version completed in 2022.
With the launch of this document scheduled in March, Sarawak now has a practical guide for HCV processes. The document will be made widely available for use by HCV practitioners especially for FMUs.
