INTI Students Hone Business Management Skills to Help Save Our Seas

WWF-Malaysia sincerely thanks the students of INTI International College Penang’s CAP2105 CAPSTONE PROJECT, under the supervision of their lecturer Encik Mohd Hafiz Mohamad Zahari, and LAW2103: Business Ethics, under the supervision of their lecturer Ms Pavithra Gopalakrishnan, who undertook activities to build support and raise funds for our conservation efforts through the ‘Save Our Seas’ Employer Project from April to July 2025.

The INTI students developed their project management, solutions oriented thinking and communications skills to build support for marine conservation among their university mates, friends and families. They leveraged technology by promoting their on-ground booths via social media channels, and enabled payment and donations using e-wallets and bank transfers.

The students developed engaging marketing content highlighting the threats to our oceans and marine life, including plastic pollution, unsustainable coastal development as well as the sale and consumption of turtle eggs. They then persuasively communicated how everyone can help save our seas by supporting their project.

The INTI students showed creativity in the design of their products for sale, including fish shaped biscuits and adorable marine life keychains, while emphasising sustainability by using fresh produce sourced from local suppliers and utilising reusable plastic containers instead of single-use plastics. Some of them went the extra mile by delivering their dessert bowls named ‘Soul in a Bowl’ – refreshing for the body and good for the soul because sales proceeds will help protect our seas – to other universities, friends and family members.

WWF-Malaysia also extends heartfelt thanks to Encik Hafiz and Ms Pavithra for guiding their students to improve their business management skills in support of saving our seas. We congratulate them and their students for successfully raising more than RM5,000 for our marine conservation efforts. Their commendable leadership and diligent efforts will inspire other youths to follow INTI’s excellent example by taking action to protect our living planet.
