The Might of Nature and the Power of Technology: Charting a Climate-Resilient Southeast Asia

Released in 2023, SEACAR Report 1 titled "The Might of Nature and the Power of Technology: Charting a Climate-Resilient Southeast Asia", sets the foundation for a shared regional narrative on climate adaptation and resilience in Southeast Asia. Jointly developed by Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Think City, and WWF-Malaysia, the report highlights the pivotal role of cities in shaping the region’s resilience pathway. With more than half of Southeast Asia’s population living in urban areas, the report examines gaps in adaptation planning, financing, and preparedness. It underscores the combined potential of nature-based solutions and emerging technologies, including data and artificial intelligence, to strengthen urban resilience and reduce climate risks for people, economies, and ecosystems.
