– The Fraser’s Hill community witnessed the culmination of the three-year HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad funded project “Engaging People in Sustainability” last November at the launch of the Composting Demo Site by the State Assemblyman of Tras, Dato’ Chan Choon Fah. This demo site, with cooperation and management by the Fraser’s Silverpark Resort, will provide visitors with an insight to the simple ways of making home compost. Besides that they also had a prize giving ceremony for Water & Energy competition and the official opening ceremony of Bishop Trail.
‘Engaging People in Sustainability’, a conservation project funded by HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad in partnership with WWF-Malaysia in Fraser’s Hill, Pahang has successfully educated and engaged the community of Fraser’s Hill to do their part for environmental conservation.
The project was first launched in 2004, aimed at continuing conservation of the rich biodiversity at Malaysia’s least developed hill station, ideal for people to experience an unpolluted, natural environment.
The project’s objectives include educating community groups on conservation and environmental issues related to Fraser’s Hill. Also, to carry out activities related to waste management, biodiversity protection and water conservation for a greener Fraser’s Hill. The Bishop’s Trail there will be upgraded with better signage, learning stations and safety measures for visitors.
