WWF-Malaysia sincerely thanks the lecturers and students of INTI International University, Nilai, MGT 1210 Fundamentals of Business Management Course, for building support and raising funds for our forest and wildlife conservation efforts.

Leading up to Earth Hour 2017, the students under the guidance of their lecturers, particularly Ms Umi Kalsom, who spearheaded this project, organised the ‘Funimal’ event on 10 November 2016. The students set up conservation-themed game stations and an exhibition on wildlife and forest conservation, making good use of recycled materials. They also designed T-shirts for the event. The students showed great resourcefulness and event management skills by coping with a sudden downpour. They already had a contingency plan in place to relocate the outdoor game stations indoors in the event of rain.

‘Funimal’ ticket and T-shirt sales proceeds totaling RM4,000 were donated to WWF-Malaysia’s conservation efforts.

“We thank you all for being green superheroes! The funds that you have helped raise will be channelled to WWF-Malaysia’s urgent conservation efforts to rehabilitate degraded forest areas in Sabah, as well as advocate the gazettement and protection of Kedah’s Ulu Muda Forest, a key water catchment area that supplies water to our nation’s rice bowl in Kedah as well as the industries in Penang.

“I am confident that all you youthful students here today will become tomorrow’s leaders, with the guidance of your lecturers. I hope that you have enjoyed participating in this project, and have had the opportunity to develop skills that will hold you in good stead when you start to build your careers. We commend INTI for supporting WWF-Malaysia’s conservation efforts, and hope that other educational institutions will follow your example,” said Ms Suan Tan, WWF-Malaysia Brand Activation Senior Manager, at the cheque presentation ceremony.
