22nd April 2012, Petaling Jaya – Sunday at Sunway Pyramid turned into a fun-filled green event as AIESEC UPM shared the green message through exciting activities.

In conjunction with Earth Day 2012, AIESEC UPM collaborated with WWF-Malaysia and other NGOs to raise public awareness on the importance of living more sustainably and biodiversity conservation with their bazaar-style “Act Green” Carnival.

There were interactive games throughout the day, including Flashmob dances, Freeze for Earth Day and Organic Sandwich Mania, along with WWF panda and MYCAT tiger mascot appearances. Members of the public left messages on the “Tree of Hope” which was a reminder of the importance of environmental conservation.

The crowd swelled during the event highlight: Miss Universe Malaysia, Kimberley Leggett, danced with a panda mascot to fulfil her Earth Hour pledge: if people donate RM500 to WWF-Malaysia’s conservation work, she will dance with the WWF panda mascot. AIESEC UPM members enthusiastically joined in the dance encore. View the dance here.
