Nexus International School - Reforestation and Conservation Project
Year 3 Learners at Nexus International School have always displayed their IPC exit points in ways to show a deepened understanding of their learning. This year was no different but even more spectacular. Directing their efforts once again to protect endangered animals and support reforestation projects in Malaysia, it was a highly successful event where the learners raised RM 5,315. There were many activities the learners organised which includes a smoothie stall, a persuasion station titled ‘Through the lens of Language Arts’ where learners discussed deforestation and came to their own conclusions and opinions as well as face painting. The year 3 completed their topic about ‘saving the world’ by taking ownership of the impact they can make in their locality. Nexus presented the cheque to Miss Suan of WWF-Malaysia on the 8th of May 2017.
WWF-Malaysia sincerely thanks Nexus International School -- especially teachers Datin Sahmalah Sakthivel, Miss Nuren Parpia, Mr Sam Crews, Miss Jess Yew, Miss Mayuri Poorni, Miss Parameswary Thangavelu, Miss Carmen Chan, and Miss Vathina Annasamy and their Year 3 students -- for raising RM5,315 in support of our forest restoration and orangutan conservation efforts.
