Symphony House Berhad

On the 8th of December 2011, Symphony House Berhad in collaboration with WWF-Malaysia launched the Symphony Workplace Giving. Symphony House is the first organization to pilot this innovative employee engagement programme with WWF-Malaysia. Symphonians can now contribute to WWF-Malaysia through payroll giving and receive tax-deductible receipts at the end of the year.

Workplace Giving is one of the least resource intensive ways businesses can help support the community. It gives employees a simple, convenient and efficient way to contribute to WWF-Malaysia’s conservation work through monthly contributions, and it helps businesses establish credibility as good corporate citizens.

Under this programme, WWF-Malaysia recently organized a Workplace Giving Day with Symphony House on the 21st June 2012 where Symphonians had an opportunity to learn about marine turtles and the role they play in the marine ecosystem from WWF-Malaysia’s Communications Officer from the Peninsular Malaysia Seas Programme, Ms. Nadiah Rosli who gave a talk titled ‘Guardians of the Sea’. The first 20 Symphonians who signed up had the privilege of winning a mystery gift from WWF-Malaysia.

We hope many more organizations will follow the lead of Symphony House Berhad and sign up for the Workplace Giving Programme.

If your organisation does not have a workplace giving program in place, you can be the one to kick-start the program. Contact your community affairs, corporate social responsibility or human resources department to suggest a workplace giving program be established with WWF-Malaysia.
