As part of its efforts to ‘go green’ and promote a paperless culture within its business, Maxis Berhad has partnered with WWF-Malaysia to introduce an e-billing (electronic bill) campaign with the purpose of encouraging customers to opt for e-billing instead of physical bills. From October until December 2014, Maxis carried out a campaign to promote e-billing to its new and existing postpaid customers, and for every e-bill sign-up, RM2 was donated to WWF’s reforestation project in North Ulu Segama, Sabah. This campaign was an extension of Maxis’ existing e-billing service for its postpaid customers, in which RM5 would be taken off their total bill when they switched to e-billing.

As a result of the 3-month campaign, a total of RM200,000 was collected from the e-bill sign-up, all of which was channelled to WWF-Malaysia for their reforestation efforts.
