Cold Storage Wildlife Savings Programme

The Cold Storage Wildlife Savings Programme (1st December 2011 – 31st March 2012) is an effort from Cold Storage to raise awareness among the younger generation on the endangered species such as orang-utans, elephants and tigers in Malaysia. This programme was open to those aged between 4 – 15 years old.  The objective of this programme is to educate youths on how small efforts can go a long way, for the benefit of wildlife.

To participate in this programme, one had to purchase a minimum of RM150 from any of Cold Storage’s 16 outlets around Malaysia and they will be eligible to collect a wildlife savings coin box. Interested participants will then have to register their details at Cold Storage website and start saving for this Wildlife Savings Programme.

On 31st March 2012, which coincides with the Earth Hour, participants returned their coin box to Cold Storage – Solaris Mont Kiara, Subang Parade and Great Eastern Mall (Klang Valley), Gurney Plaza (Penang) or Plaza Pelangi (Johor Bahru) for collection. Special edition of WWF Live Green magnetic bookmarks was distributed to all participants as souvenirs.

A total collection of RM60,000.00 was collected for the Cold Storage Wildlife Savings Programme and all proceeds from this programme was channeled to WWF-Malaysia’s conservation efforts to protect the endangered species of Malaysia.
