Banggi Environmental Awareness Centre (BEAC) came to existence in 2002 when the then Assistant District Officer of Banggi, En. Mohd. Salleh Akhbar, gave permission for its use to WWF-Malaysia, who set it up with the Department of Fisheries, Greenforce and the Banggi District Office. Since then, the former community hall for Kg.
