Malaysian Timber Exporters Get to Meet EU buyersAs an active timber exporter, are you thinking of establishing business links with the European buyers or expand your market share in Spain for 2007? Spain Global Forest and Trade Network (SFTN) together with other FTN from Bolivia, Russia, Brazil and Central Africa are organising a business roundtable to promote new market links for responsible suppliers. This is good news for Malaysian exporters especially producers of construction and building materials, such as sawn wood, flooring, doors, windows, veneer and others.
The event is scheduled from 14th to 19th May 2007 in Spain. It aims to gather European importers for the business round table, and the producers will get the opportunity to meet with buyers and Spanish Real States and Constructors.
Aside from the roundtable, participants can find out more about the certified products and products from responsible sources. The SFTN will also organise a seminar on the Forest Stewardship Certification (FSC) products and Global Forest and Trade Network (GFTN).
Soon, the Malaysian government will sign the Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA) with the European Union, thus this will be a good opportunity for Malaysian producers to understand the market preferences and requirements in Europe.
Currently the Global Forest and Trade Network (GFTN) is active in nearly 30 countries from Europe, Asia, Africa, and America. The network participants have annual forest products sales exceeding $48 billion each year and still engaging in 128 trading deals with other GFTN members– a global business outreach.
