The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (NRE) is the Malaysian focal point for the Heart of Borneo in Malaysia.

The State Governments of Sabah and Sarawak head their respective state agencies, all of which play significant roles in ensuring the successful managing and conserving of forests in the Heart of Borneo.
