Protecting an area doesn’t guarantee that its biodiversity, environmental or cultural features will be secure. This depends largely on how effectively a protected area is managed. WWF-Malaysia’s “Strengthening the Protected Areas System of Peninsular Malaysia” project is also targeted at improving the management effectiveness of existing protected areas, apart from establishing new protected areas.
